Well here we are back in Medina – because we’re on a mission to finish this brew tour. Dammit.
And we would’ve been one step closer tonight except that we realized on the way into town that one of the four breweries we still needed to hit was only open on the weekend. Dammit again.
But hey, we’re out here already (thank you again for the scenery, Granger Road) so we decided to start at Medina Brewing Company. Because they have food – courtesy of Big Dog Daddy, whom they share a building with. And, I mean, food is one of the pillars of our Wednesday nights out. Score.
Hey, it’s wing Wednesday! The special is kind of like a BOGO but really it’s buy one get one half off.
BOGOHO? Did we just invent that?
Well whatever you want to call it, don’t call it cheap – because prices are still steep even at the special pricing. It’s 6 wings for $10 or 10 wings for $16. So you could get 12 wings for $15 on Wednesday. Ok. I mean, sure, that’s better than normal prices, but we’re still a far cry from the days of the 10 cent wing night.
Another menu staple is sausages/brats, which made Shane happy since that’s something that’s been on his mind ever since our visit to the new Ignite Brewery in Brunswick a few weeks back.
Shane got the K dog, which is kind of like a chili dog but onions and Cole slaw, which is a different addition. He also got the Bruce, which is a hot sausage link covered in chili, relish, jalepenos and a chili pepper aioli. So basically all the hot things they could find in the kitchen on top of a hot sausage. Cool.

So that’s the K on the left and the Bruce on the right, in case that matters to anyone.
It apparently will matter to Shane if we should ever come back here, because the K dog didn’t impress him at all. He said he should’ve gotten two of the Bruce and none of the other. Sorry K. Seems you aren’t so special to Shane.
Ted got the kimchi dog and six of the spicy Thai wings. So he had triple threat of spicy wings, a spicy hot dog and a jalepeno IPA to wash it all down. Needless to say he needed some water by the end of the visit.

Keeping on theme, I got the southwestern salad, which was a special addition to the menu. It was pretty tasty. The dressing was spicy and quite honestly made the salad. Because, let’s face it, anyplace can chop up some lettuce and vegetables and throw them together – but it’s the dressing that makes it interesting. And in this case, the jalapeños. Oof.

Overall it was a decent meal, and more filling than I think we gave it credit for when it first came out to the table. I mean, you’ve seen the amount of food we normally order. This is like an appetizer in comparison to that normal fiasco that is our table on a Wednesday night. It’s a small menu, but it seems like they do have a little bit of something for everyone, as long as you like vegetables and sausages in some capacity. Don’t come here looking for a pizza.
Or sunlight, for that matter. That’s probably our biggest issue with both the brewery and the restaurant – it’s located in the basement of a building, so great if it’s the middle of winter and you don’t want to see the snow falling outside, but kind of a bummer on a gorgeous early summer evening that kind of begged for a patio visit. Oh well.
