Hey look Ted picked a Mexican restaurant. Shocking.
I mean Shane did kind of challenge him to eventually choose every single one in the area, so here we are.
Full disclosure, Shane and I had been to Alejandro’s for a drink and meal on Cinco de Mayo earlier this year. Yet another reason why Ted had to claim it since the WTGW rule book says we can’t.
Don’t act like you didn’t know there were rules. Please.
One thing to note about Alejandro’s: it’s very small inside. Like maybe 10 tables in the dining area and a small bar all the way in the back. There’s also a patio – well, OK, a sidewalk with tables on it, but sure let’s call it a patio – but that’s also only about five or six tables. Plus being that it’s October and Ohio it’s a bit cool in the evening to be dining al fresco so we can really retire that option until maybe Cinco de Mayo 2025.
Shane and I opted for a pitcher of the raspberry margaritas. Ted ordered a mojito – the Wednesday night special.

We all agreed that the salsa served with the chips was very good. It had some heat and good flavor without us having to add any table hot sauce to it.
Shane got his usual, a fajita quesadilla. It comes with rice and beans.

When it arrived he was like that’s not what that’s supposed to look like. I think he’s used to the whole thing being flipped once – like an omelette- not cut into slices like a true quesadilla.
He also got a side of tamales. Because his experience at Latino’s clearly didn’t imprint on him that ordering side dishes at a Mexican restaurant usually isn’t necessary.

I got the steak street tacos with rice and beans. I liked them, they were very good. A little heavy on the onion, especially in combination with the fresh salsa, but not overwhelming.

Ted got the Azteca burrito, which has rice, beans and vegetables inside, along with alllll the meats – steak, chicken and shrimp.

He finished his whole burrito and was definitely full afterwards.
I ordered another basket of chips as we were finishing our meals – because I have a magnetic attraction to a basket of chips with salsa and will not turn down more when offered, it’s a sickness really – but and Ted had said he would help me eat them. And then after eating his meal he was like sorry, I lied.
What a good friend.
All in all, Alejandro’s is a decent place. The food is good, the service is friendly and on par, and you get a lot for your money. It’s nothing fancy, and on a busy night during the rush hours it will be hard to get a table – but if you can get it you won’t be disappointed. We also noticed a lot of people coming in to pick up carry out orders, so if you live nearby that’s a great option as well.
Picked by: Ted (not surprised)
