So if you’ve been with us for a while now you’ll recognize Fishers as the very first place we ever reviewed on this blog. We’re talking wayyyyyy back in October of 2013.
And because we found the place to be very dark, a little dingy and not exactly a place we were in a hurry to come back to, well, we didn’t.
I mean we did miss Ted doing this with his food.

But also back then we were just starting out and I guess you could say that the restaurant world was our oyster when it came to new picks. And while some places we were quick to pick for revisits, this place just wasn’t.
I do drive past Fishers occasionally on my way home from work and over the years have started to notice the parking lot would be full and the patio seemed especially busy in summer. So I kept threatening the guys that I would eventually pick it as a revisit. Which usually resulted in a chorus of groans and blatant disapprovals, so I kept putting it off lest I get made fun of for actually thinking it had gotten better.
But then I noticed pictures on their social media pages showing they turned the place into a Christmas pop up – which then morphed into an overall winter theme.

Now they doesn’t look anything like the place with a seemingly red tint from that original photo, does it?
They also have igloos on the patios that you can reserve in the winter if you want that outdoor experience without freezing your fingers off trying to eat.

So yeah, here we are.
We were seated in the bar area on our request. There is a dining area in the front as you walk in, but if you know us you know that we typically aren’t family friendly enough to sit comfortably in that space if there’s a separate bar area available.
Our first impression was that it didn’t look at all inside how we remembered it. It’s lighter and brighter, and of course the holiday decor was a pleasant change. I mean, given it’s been 13 years I guess we shouldn’t be surprised. But also given our memory of the interior was part of our reasoning to not return all this time it’s kind of disappointing we missed the memo that they had remodeled.
We asked the bartender and he said it happened sometime around covid since everything was shut down anyway. Smart.
Shane and I started out with breaded mushrooms.

In true fashion they were little balls of molten lava that explode in your mouth. Tell me why these are on the appetizer menu when you have to wait almost until the meal is served to actually eat them if you want to retain any feeling in your tongue?
The special on Wednesdays is a full slab of ribs with a side for $18,99 which is $10 off of full price. Shane ordered that with onion rings as side.

Ted got the cowboy burger. He’s also staying on theme so far in 2026 by also getting wings, too – because, in what should be our slogan, “we like burgers and wings.” He got five of the firecracker wings, which is their special house blend.

I got the pub burger, which is a mushroom Swiss burger touted on the menu as their top selling burger, and a side salad.

The short story for tonight is that we were all very impressed with our meals, and that we were all shocked that we had waited so long to return here from our initial visit.
But if you want a few more details, Shane said he would definitely order the ribs again, especially given the deal on the Wednesday special. Ted was pleasantly surprised by his wing flavor, and said his burger was really good.
I agree that the burger was good. They don’t really season the burger patty so definitely get one with toppings. But they cook the burgers to order and we were not disappointed.
I definitely understand now why the parking lot is so full most days. In addition to the Wednesday rib special, they also have wings on Mondays, burgers on Tuesday, and prime rib on the weekends. They also have happy hour specials with $7 drinks and apps from 3-7 weekdays.
I think it’s safe to say we won’t let another 13 years go by before we visit again.
